The event will begin with a warm welcome and introduction by Vivien Foster, the Finance Working Group Lead at the Green Grids Initiative and Head of International Partnerships for the Climate Compatible Growth Programme. She will provide an overview of the event’s objectives and emphasize the importance of financial support in advancing grid infrastructure. Following the introduction, Marcus Stewart and Lucia Fuselli, representing WAPPP and the GGI Finance Principles, will lead a 15-minute fireside chat and presentation on the Finance Principles, showcasing insights from the Finance White Paper.

 

The main segment of the event will feature a 40-minute panel discussion  with a distinguished group of panelists including Chadia Abreu, Advisor for Clean Energy & Climate Solutions with the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Energy and Mines; Daniel Schroth, Director for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the African Development Bank; Andrew Jeffries, Advisor for the Energy Transition Mechanism and Partnerships at the Asian Development Bank; and Monica Gullberg, Senior Energy Policy Specialist at SIDA. This discussion will delve into the commitments made towards grid finance and explore how these pledges are being transformed into actionable power solutions.
